Chicago builds out "Virtual Shield" with intelligent video surveillance
Chicago’s Office of Emergency Management and Communications is expanding its Virtual Shield public safety network with a wireless surveillance system that can capture, monitor and record real-time video. Thousands of video cameras will be linked through an intelligent platform to serve first-response, as well as forensic, needs.

Is Wireless Silicon Valley going forward or not?
The Wall Street Journal article on Wireless Silicon Valley raises more questions than it answers. Cisco says they’re still in, but IBM, the systems integrator for the project, did not respond to the WSJ’s inquiries. Meanwhile, Azulstar, the other partner in this project, has trouble in Rio Rancho.
